From Hussain Bin Khalid who narrated: Imam Musa Al Kadhim(as) asked: How would you read this verse:{You who believe, be mindful of God, as is His due, and do not die except as devotees(Musalimun)}? I replied:Muslims(Muslimun). He said:SubhanAllah!So he declares their faith first by calling them believers and then asks them to be devoted Muslims, so does that mean faith(Iman) precedes Islam? I replied:Thats the reading of Zayd. So He said:Ali Ibn Abu Talibs(as) reading of it,however, which is the exact way it was revealed by Jibril to Muhammad(saw) is as follows:{Except as devotees(musalimun)}-to the Messenger of Allah and then Imams after Him.
